The 'Wildfire' Black Gum is a visually striking ornamental tree prized for its vibrant, seasonal foliage. In spring, it produces brilliant red new growth that matures into deep green during the summer, followed by a stunning display of scarlet, orange, and yellow leaves in the fall. In its first 10 years, the 'Wildfire' Black Gum typically grows at a moderate rate, adding about 1 to 2 feet per year under good conditions. By year ten, you can generally expect it to reach 10 to 20 ft in height with a spread of 6 to 12 ft.
